How did we compare the apps?
We make the Nalukh chem app, so our own product is part of this comparison. We read the information about the other apps and websites on their official pages, the App Store, and Google Play on October 31, 2026. We did not test or rate them ourselves. Prices and ratings can change, so check them before you install anything.

What languages are they available in?
All eight apps and websites are available in English. Nalukh chem also works in 10 other languages, including Spanish, German, French and Russian.
Built for simulations: PhET and ChemCollective
PhET is an open project of the University of Colorado. Its biggest advantage is that it runs in your browser without installing anything. It works well when you want to explore one concept in depth, but it has no full course sequence and no progress tracking.
ChemCollective is a virtual chemistry lab developed by Carnegie Mellon University. You choose from hundreds of reagents yourself and mix solutions. It fits high school and college students better. We have not confirmed whether it works on phones.
Full courses: Khan Academy and EasyChem
Khan Academy is free. It has video lessons, practice with step-by-step hints, and covers all school subjects. However, its chemistry content is not translated equally into every language.
EasyChem is a chemistry course with eight types of exercises that shows you your mistakes. It works on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The Android version is in closed testing.
For reference and problem solving: Merck PTE, Ptable, Chemistry
Merck PTE has detailed information on each element and a molar mass calculator, and it works offline.
Ptable is a popular periodic table that runs in your browser. It has information on isotopes and compounds, and you can install it in your browser to use it offline.
Chemistry is a tool for solving equations, looking up reactions, and checking the solubility table. It helps you finish homework quickly, but if you don't practice solving problems without seeing the answers, it won't help you learn much.
Who is Nalukh chem for?
Nalukh chem is an app for grades 6–11 with 85 topics, 1070 activities, and 83 simulations. The lessons follow the order of the Mongolian school curriculum. You can play duels with friends and see your progress through a pretest and a final test for each topic. It works offline.
The downsides: you can't use it in a browser, so you have to install it. The full content is paid (pricing). If you only need to look at one concept quickly, PhET is enough.
